INSULATION SERVICES

ATTIC AND CRAWLSPACE DECONTAMINATION

When rodents and wildlife infest our attic or crawlspaces, they cause damage to the insulation. Along with this damage, in most cases it is heavily contaminated with feces and urine, nesting material, stored food, and carcasses. OP Pest Control's decontamination services are second to none.

DECONTAMINATION

One thing all mammals have in common is that they are attracted to the smell of their own species' urine and feces. Think dogs or cats, marking their territory. Rats and mice are along the same lines. The only difference is their urine doesn't mark territory, it just advertises to everything outside that there is a party in here and everyone is invited. Even if the animals are removed 100%, theres still a posibility of animals on the outside smelling the urine, chewing their way in, and reinfesting. OP Pest Control's decontamination services will remove the feces and urine, nesting material, carcasses and debris. Even after all this is removed, the smell and attractant pheremones still permeate the wood. In order to remove the odor and waste completely, the surfaces of the contaminated area will be treated with a live culture that consumes all remaining waste completely.

CRAWLSPACE SERVICES

After the decontamination process, the crawlspace is ready for a new vapor barrier. The vapor barrier is essential in that it prevents moisture accumulation in the crawlspace. We install the highest quality 6mm vapor barrier on the market. OP Pest Control will use the highest quality subfloor insulation, free of formaldehyde and volatile chemicals.

ATTIC

Once attic decontamination is complete, we can reinstall new insulation depth markers and attic blowing insulation. Depth control markers are rulers that tell us exactly how deep the insulation is, and where. This ensures the proper thickness to ensure the correct resistance to heat transfer. We use attic blowing insulation because it is the most cost effective insulation to install. There is the option of batting insulation, but the cost of labor would increase.
